the light in the lcd clock on my mk1 gal works when it wants to...no surprise there then...iv'e taken the clock out the housing and removed the black plastic bulb holder...before i get heavy handed and destroy summat i dont need to can anyone tell me if you just pull the bulb out the holder or is it a 1 piece unit...

New bulb and plastic holder (usually blue)is a one piece item.Ref this post by pftc
